Our project
Has already initiated a journey towards promising results, laying the groundwork for a significant impact on the lives of individuals grappling with dementia and their families. Over the next two years, we are poised to accelerate our efforts, leveraging our shared experiences and collective wisdom to design innovative tools and implement activities aimed at promoting intergenerational exchanges to address the challenges posed by dementia. Together, we will continue to learn, grow, and collaborate, striving to create inclusive environments where individuals with dementia find understanding, support, and a sense of belonging.
Identification of Best Practices
Through collaborative efforts, we have identified a comprehensive set of tools aimed at improving services to enhance the quality of life and inclusion of people with dementia, their families, and caregivers in the community. Our publication, “Best Practices from Dementia Inclusive Community,” presents a curated selection of best practices analyzed by partner organizations. It also provides recommendations for creating dementia-inclusive societies and enhancing support services.
Exchange Visits
We have conducted three successful exchange visits in Italy, Greece, and Spain, receiving positive feedback from participants. These visits offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in another European country, facilitated by our partner organizations. Participants engage in firsthand experiences, posing questions, sharing challenges, and gaining insights into intergenerational connections and inclusive communities. These exchanges not only enhance the knowledge and practices of participant organizations but also inspire new viewpoints and approaches.
Implementation of Pilot Projects:
Each participating country has implemented a pilot project focused on intergenerational and community inclusion. These pilots represent innovative new services or upgraded practices that are replicable by partners and other European peers. By implementing these pilots, we aim to demonstrate tangible examples of effective interventions that promote inclusivity and improve the lives of individuals with dementia and their families.
